Big business in San Jose: DUI, what will it cost you?
My best friend slides into the car beside me because he's barely able to walk. After a night on the town, he has had a few too many and I was anxious to get him home. He had embarrassed me one too many times, first when he got kicked out of the club for looking up skirts and second, just a few minutes ago, when he laid himself down in the middle of the street. I had to console him enough to move before he was hit by a car. I was fed up and ready to go home. I gently pull out of the parking lot and make a right. Two seconds later I see red and blue flashing lights and I am being pulled over for forgetting to turn my lights on. In my defense, It was bright in the parking lot. That night, after only two drinks, I blew a 1.0 and was charged with a DUI. My friend, James, received a drunken in public and we were both taken straight to jail. This can happen to anyone who has had a drink before driving.
Having just went through the painful experience of a DUI, I would like to share the intricacies of what I have learned. Not only is driving under the influence deathly dangerous, it is very costly these days and It is big business in San Jose.
Rodney Stark of NTSI, the largest DUI school in downtown San Jose estimates that 31,390 people were enrolled for DUI classes last year, spread out between five schools. “Of course, there are many more people who get arrested but never enroll for classes”, Rodney says. Even though it is a mandatory part of sentencing in the DUI program. Here is a break down of what you can expect if you find yourself faced with a DUI here in San Jose, although every case is a bit different.
1. Car Towing and impound charges: up to $300 a day or more.
2. A trip to the jail with bond: 5%-20% of a 3,000 bond paid to the bondsman.
3. A good lawyer: 5,000-10,000
4. Time off work to spend in court, week-end work program or jail plus the cost of a babysitter or nanny if kids are involved: 1,000's
5. Fine $1,700+
A. Week-end work program: $35.00 a day; First offenders six to nine days.
B.. Three DUI's within ten years or positive narcotics test: 90 days in jail.
6. DUI classes for first offenders: $500.00, classes are once a week for three to four months long.
7. SR22: Depending on your insurance company but your rates will go up.
8. DMV reinstatement fee: $140.00
9. Emotional and time costs: priceless
As you can see, getting a DUI is costly in San Jose. If you plan on drinking, you should plan on getting a cab or a designated driver. Otherwise, you will probably get caught and become a DUI statistic with loss of time, money, and emotional sanity. Please know that taking a friends keys before they plan to drive drunk is considered the right thing to do. Please don't drink and drive.

I am enjoying my new found freedom in copy writing
I am so excited because now I have the chance to work when I want and make a great living at the same time. I love having my freedom, it's important to me. I love to write but finding writing jobs isn't really that easy unless there is a set of skills to go along with it like copy writing. I am so excited to have my business especially in this slow economy. I have tried to direct sell for companies and after years of trying I realized it just wasn't me. I am not a sales manager. I am not trying to build a huge team that I alone is responsible to inspire, direct and train. I am a writer. I love to write; sale letters, web content, e-zines, newsletters, articles, stories...I just love it. I realized all the training I learned in promoting myself in these different business' did help me. I learned lots and I love to learn new things, especially if it can help me help someone else to make money or promote their product. I realized my dream of writing was always there. I can sell with my writing. WOW, this is so cool! I don't have to convince anyone that they can do it too. I spent so much time beating my head against the wall because I wanted it sooooo bad that I was even willing to do my down lines work. I was that committed. I wanted to succeed so bad that I couldn't understand why anyone who really wanted to be successful wouldn't or couldn't commit and put it the amount of work I was putting in. (I was a workaholic) I feel so free now knowing I can succeed on my skill set, doing what I love to do and not caring if anyone else wants to do it too. Sure, I am a natural born sales woman but I love to do it in writing. This realization has freed me from the network marketing train and from the endless boring jobs I can never make myself commit too that never helped me to succeed. Some people are awesome at network marketing and I admire them. They have great skills! I've learned so much great techniques and information I couldn't have learned anywhere else and am grateful for the education. It helps me in my business life today in every way. I even still use the products from one of my ventures because I simply love them so much but I am not good at getting others to buy into the whole package and build a business. Most people simply just don't have the commitment or the time or the energy or the dream. Network marketing is an awesome business if you have the commitment and the passion. Finding the right company with the right service or products that fit an individual is key. Not everyone can sell just anything. "You" have to believe in what your selling in order to get others to believe in you. After all, you really are just selling yourself as with any business. Until next time....
belief in yourself is everything...
belief in yourself is everything...

Human Trafficking and NIKE
Free2Work.org http://tinyurl.com/aa2jzy http://www.free2work.org/ DON'T BUY FROM NIKE and please watch this horrifying video. I just found out that they use slaves. This is called human Trafficking. I wanted to start out this blog about something I care about deeply. The lives of other human beings being wasted in either sexual exploitation or in other forms of terrifying slavery. Children, women and men around the world, including in the US, are being exploited daily. I am a backyard abolitionist and if you want to know more about this ever growing worldwide phenomenon then go to www.notforsalecampaign.org/ They are located in San Francisco and they do awesome work in the fight against human trafficking.
Welcome to my blog- who knows what you might read here but whatever it is you can be sure it is probably close to my heart or heavy on my mind. I hope to talk to you again soon!
